After starting his professional journey as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in 2003, Devin took the entrepreneurial leap in 2010, establishing his own firm. This venture was driven by his commitment to offering a service grounded in educational values, transparent practices, and a dedication to minimizing conflicts of interest.

In his current role as the firm's owner and lead advisor, Devin oversees all of the operations of the advisory and service teams. 

His extensive work in retirement planning has been featured in numerous prestigious publications, including Forbes, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and many others. Despite this recognition, Devin maintains a humble approach, considering himself an eternal student of retirement planning. He shares his ever-growing knowledge with a large audience, reaching more than 1,000,000 users monthly through his website, podcast, and YouTube channel. 

Devin’s Personal Life

Devin is the youngest of three brothers and grew up all over Texas, from Amarillo to Laredo and many places in between. In his later teen years, his family moved from Texas to a little city outside of Shreveport, Louisiana. It was there that he finished high school and started college. It was also during this time he fell in love with a blonde-haired girl named Karen. Nearly three decades later they have 3 children and three dogs. In 2016, Karen left her job as a registered nurse to join Devin in the business.

When Devin isn't busy with work, he can often be found at home, spending time with his family. Whether he's cooking meals in his outdoor kitchen or planning the next culinary adventure, he loves any cooking that involves wood and fire.  Alternatively, you might spot him in his favorite place - the Ozarks, where he enjoys exploring the scenic trails alongside his family. On most Sundays, you can find his family at Church on The Rock.

Why Devin Does This

Devin's goal is simple; provide a sense of peace in retirement. Over his 20+ years in working with retirees he's encountered many who go into their retirement years burdened by worry, fear, and anxiety, often due to poor financial decisions, a lack of proper guidance, and unclear planning.

Recognizing that retirement planning is as much about emotions as it is about data, Devin uses his natural ability to teach for ensuring his clients have the clarity and confidence needed to navigate their retirement journey successfully.

Alexander began his career in the financial services industry at Fidelity Investments. After gaining the valuable experience of working for a large firm, he began looking for an avenue to help people across a broader array of their financial needs. That search led him to Carroll Advisory Group.

Alexander’s Personal Life 

Family has always been important. He and his four siblings were raised on their family’s old farmland in Hooks, TX, becoming the sixth generation to steward the land. A tight-knit upbringing led Alexander to cherish the simple things in life. Coincident with starting his job at Carroll Advisory Group, he was able to return home to the family farm from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. 

Outside of the office, Alexander enjoys getting back to the basics: spending time with his fiancé, raising livestock, and enjoying fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. 

Why Alexander Does this 

Alexander is passionate about understanding each person's unique journey and their relationship with money. Through deep listening and empathetic understanding, he offers financial advice that resonates deeply and empowers our clients with financial confidence.

Before joining Carroll Advisory, Nick spent time as a banker at Huntington National, an advisor at Merrill Lynch, and a financial planner at Allegheny Financial Group. Each step along the journey has given Nick building blocks which has built him into the comprehensive planner he is today. 

Nick’s Personal Life 

Nick and his wife share their home with two beloved dogs and enjoy spending their evenings playing card and board games. An avid cyclist, Nick loves exploring the world on two wheels, combining his passion for fitness and adventure.

Why Nick Does This 

In his previous career as a golf professional, Nick’s passion was helping people. On the golf course, that meant teaching members to improve their game and celebrate milestones like achieving a new low score. While rewarding, Nick realized these accomplishments didn’t create a lasting, meaningful impact on their lives.

Motivated to make a deeper difference, Nick transitioned to the financial services industry, where he could help people achieve their long-term goals and positively transform their lives through sound financial planning and guidance.

After a multi-year career in banking, Dustin joined the team to help manage the many critical details that keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. In his role, he oversees the many automated systems, coordinates meetings, and ensures the precision of account data. His expertise not only streamlines our internal processes but also enhances our ability to deliver exceptional service to our clients. Dustin's contributions are integral to maintaining the high standards of accuracy and reliability that our clients have come to expect from us. 

Dustin’s Personal Life

Dustin occupies the third spot among four siblings. Outside the professional realm, Dustin is an enthusiast of nature and travel, with a fondness for exploring places like the Northern Cascades and Diablo Lake Overlook in Washington, as well as the serene trails of Moxie Falls in Maine. Family is a cornerstone of his life, cherishing moments with his immediate relatives and five nieces and nephews while holding aspirations to start a family of his own someday.

Dustin is driven by a passion for applying his technological expertise to uphold and advance Carroll Advisory Group's commitment to client service. This includes ensuring the utmost privacy and security for clients, fostering a culture of continuous innovation, and always prioritizing the simplification of the client experience.

Karen Carroll brings a diverse and rich background to her multifaceted role, combining her extensive healthcare experience with her exceptional organizational and managerial skills. After completing her college education in 1999, Karen dedicated 17 years to serving as a Registered Nurse, a role in which she honed her ability to manage high-pressure situations, demonstrate empathy, and provide top-tier care. 

In 2016, Karen embarked on a new professional journey, joining forces with her husband, Devin, to contribute to the growth and success of their business. In her current role, Karen is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence across several domains, including client services, accounting, and human resources. 

Personal Life

Outside of her professional endeavors, Karen serves as the cornerstone of the Carroll family household, where she applies the same level of care, organization, and love as she does in her professional life.

Karen Carroll approaches her role within the business with a deeply rooted sense of mission, viewing her professional duties as a part of her ministry. Recognizing the complexity of retirement, which often comes with its own set of unforeseen emotional challenges, Karen is dedicated to providing a level of support that transcends traditional client service.
